This year’s late Easter means springtime fun for Ford’s of Oakham while raising funds for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The family-run department store is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt on Good Friday and Easter Saturday in the heart of the market town.
The cracking event has a brand new look this year and includes an Easter egg counting challenge.
Manager Juliana White said: “Our annual Easter celebration is something we always look forward to here at Ford’s and gets great feedback from our visitors.
“But to coincide with our new look, we thought it was time to revamp our Easter event and raise funds for the Rutland Air Ambulance at the same time.
“So this year, we invite everyone to count the Easter Eggs in our special shop window display.”
There will be an entry form available in store and those taking part will need to complete it along with their egg-stimate of how many eggs we’ve put in our display. It costs £2 per person.
Those with the correct answer will go into a hat and one winner will be drawn at random and will win a £50 Toymaster voucher.

Ford’s of Oakham was founded in 1877 and has remained a part of Rutland’s heritage ever since, becoming the county’s only independent department store.
As a family business, Ford’s started as a furniture shop before diversifying into funerals and later a department store, which is now passed down to the next generation, Juliana and Richard White.
The store is based at 8 Church Street, Oakham.
